RN Triage Nurse Job Description

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Triage Nurse. In this role, you will be responsible for assessing patients' health problems and needs, developing and executing nursing care plans, and assisting in the maintenance of patient medical records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Patient Assessment and Care Planning: The Triage Nurse will conduct thorough assessments of patients' health problems and needs, developing and implementing effective nursing care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Medical Record Maintenance: The Triage Nurse will assist in the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date patient medical records, ensuring that all relevant information is recorded and easily accessible.
  • Collaboration with Healthcare Team: The Triage Nurse will work closely with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care, communicate effectively, and ensure seamless transitions of care.
  • Education and Support: The Triage Nurse will provide education and support to patients and their families, empowering them to take an active role in their healthcare and make informed decisions about their treatment.

Requirements:

  • License and Certification: The Triage Nurse must be a licensed Registered Nurse with current certification in a relevant specialty.
  • Experience: The Triage Nurse must have prior experience in a clinical setting, preferably in a triage or emergency department.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: The Triage Nurse must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
