The Occupational Therapist will provide high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services to support the unique needs of our students. This role requires a strong understanding of occupational therapy theories, models of practice, and principles.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze tasks and student factors to implement effective intervention plans.
- Recognize occupational performance deficits and develop targeted interventions.
- Collaborate with the treatment team to develop and implement individualized plans.
- Work closely with teachers, staff, and families to develop classrooms and individual interventions.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Master's degree or higher in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Certification as an occupational therapist by the National Board for Certification of Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
- Current New York State license as an Occupational Therapist.
- 2 years of related experience with children, including experience working with students with self-regulation challenges, trauma histories, or autism spectrum disorder.
- Strong verbal, written, and computer skills.
- Valid NYS Driver's License.

The Occupational Therapist must be able to sit, stand, walk, run, climb stairs, and lift weights of up to 30 pounds. Participation in Therapeutic Crisis Intervention training is required.
