Job Summary:

As a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner at Henry Ford Health System, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, patient-centered care to newborns and their families. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team of healthcare professionals who are dedicated to delivering exceptional care and improving patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care to newborns in the inpatient units, under the supervision of neonatologists and in consultation with other healthcare professionals.
• Coordinate clinical care to newborns admitted to the newborn intensive care unit, provide delivery room stabilization, and accompany the transport team.
• Gather relevant data from available records, perform assessments, and formulate plans of care and monitoring.
• Order tests, follow up on results, perform procedures, and document in the electronic health record.
• Communicate effectively with subspecialists, nursing staff, and ancillary services to ensure seamless care coordination.
• Provide direct treatment and management of health conditions via prescriptive authority or referral to other healthcare providers or community resources.
• Counsel and educate families/caregivers concerning preventative health, treatment options, and community resources.
• Document delivery of healthcare in accordance with specific specialty area standards.

Requirements:

• Master's degree in Nursing required.
• National Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Certification required.
• BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
• American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card accepted upon hire, but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing required.
• Nurse Practitioner with Prescriptive Authority credentialed from the Michigan Board of Nursing required.
• Federal DEA license required.
