Role Description:

The Clinical Dietitian will play a crucial role in our Pediatric Cystic Fibrosis program, recognized as one of the largest in the nation. This is a part-time position requiring attendance in the clinic on specific weekdays, with flexibility for remote work on an additional day. The working hours are from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Candidates must possess prior experience in pediatric dietetics.

This role involves delivering high-quality nutritional care primarily to outpatients with cystic fibrosis and associated complications. Utilizing the Nutrition Care Process, the Clinical Dietitian will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, leveraging each member's expertise. Responsibilities include:
  • Designing, implementing, and assessing personalized nutrition education for patients and families
  • Supervising dietetic interns and other learners as necessary
  • Independently prescribing oral nutrition supplements and managing enteral and parenteral nutrition as authorized by medical staff
  • Exhibiting advanced skills in specialized areas of dietetics
The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced practice by engaging in ongoing initiatives such as developing nutrition care protocols, leading clinical research projects, or contributing to quality improvement efforts. Additionally, they will be expected to make significant contributions annually, which may include multidisciplinary projects or publications.

Qualifications:

• Must hold dietetic registration with the Commission on Dietetic Registration.

• Licensure through the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency is required, along with Dietitian Certification. A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is necessary, with a specialist certification from an approved body.

• Alternatively, 10 years of relevant experience without a specialist certification is acceptable.

• Candidates should consistently reflect the values of Indiana University Health, as assessed in annual performance reviews.
