About the Role

The Medical Assistant plays a vital role in supporting our clinical team at Summit Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our physicians and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare examination rooms and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available.
  • Escort patients to examination rooms and maintain a clean and organized environment.
  • Assist with patient flow and ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments and managing patient records.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient information, including medical histories and medication lists.
  • Assist with procedures and exams as needed, under the supervision of a licensed healthcare professional.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred.
  • Medical Assistant certification required; Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently.
  • Basic proficiency in computer use and electronic health records (EHRs).
