Overview:
The Senior Associate in IT Financial Planning & Analysis plays a pivotal role within the Finance team, focusing primarily on IT Controlling while also supporting Management Support Function (MSF) Controlling. This position is essential for monitoring financial performance, budgeting, and reporting for the IT and Operational Technology (OT) sectors of RWE Renewables America.
Key Responsibilities:
- IT Controlling (80% of Role):
Lead the IT Controlling initiatives, including the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reports, budgeting, forecasting, and business case development. Identify cost-saving opportunities and engage in performance dialogues to enhance financial outcomes. - Financial Planning & Cost Analysis:
Develop and maintain comprehensive models for IT and OT financial planning. Ensure timely and accurate reporting, assessing the performance of investments against established KPIs and advising senior management accordingly. - Business Support:
Collaborate closely with IT and OT functions to meet internal and external reporting requirements. Act as a strategic partner by identifying cost-saving opportunities and providing insightful analyses that facilitate informed decision-making. - Coordination and Networking:
Serve as the primary liaison for IT and OT financial matters within the Controlling team, ensuring effective communication and coordination across various business units. - Management Communication:
Engage with senior management, preparing materials for meetings and supporting regular reporting activities and special projects. - Ongoing Initiatives:
Contribute to company-wide strategic goals and initiatives, particularly in the context of recent mergers and growth targets. - MSF Controlling (20% of Role):
Support MSF Controlling efforts, including monthly reporting and forecasting for overhead functions such as HR, Legal, and Procurement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in Accounting, Business Controlling, or Financial Planning & Analysis.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex information.
- Proficiency in SAP or similar ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
Language Requirements:
Fluency in English is required; proficiency in German is a plus.
