About the Role

Amazon is seeking an experienced and innovative Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment for our associates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement WHS policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, regional, and federal regulations.
  • Conduct regular site audits to identify and mitigate risks, and implement solutions to eliminate exposure to these risks.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to ensure compliance with all applicable Amazon WHS policies.
  • Measure site performance against published requirements in WHS policies and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead and develop a team of WHS professionals, creating and executing leadership development plans and ensuring the team is executing to core competencies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or 2+ years of Amazon experience.
  • 3+ years of increasing responsibilities in WHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders.
  • Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem-solving ability.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Distribution Center or Manufacturing EHS experience with a mix of exempt and nonexempt employees at a site of at least 250 people.
  • Master's degree.
  • Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, dynamic organization.
  • Certified Safety Professional.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $63,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $115,700/year in our highest geographic market.
