Summary of Position:
The School of Education is seeking candidates for the role of Assistant Professor in Teacher Education. The selected individual will be responsible for instructing courses in various areas, including but not limited to special education, secondary education, science education, or elementary education.
Position Type:
Faculty - Temporary & Continuing
Required Education:
Ed. D. or Ph.D. in Education or a closely related discipline. A minimum of 18 credits in special education or science education at the master's level or higher is preferred.
Required Work Experience:
5 years of teaching experience at the PK-12 level in special education and/or science.
Required Licenses and Certifications:
Teacher certification or eligibility for certification.

Experience in higher education teaching.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Faculty members have professional responsibilities that include advising students, facilitating student orientation and registration, participating in university committees, maintaining regular office hours that accommodate students, and engaging in academic functions such as reporting student participation data and submitting final grades punctually.
Faculty may be required to teach in off-campus or online settings.
Demonstrates a commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, particularly in interactions with students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Instruct courses in education, including general education, special education, science education, or other qualified areas.
Engage in departmental, college, and university committees.
Assist with accreditation processes, including data collection.
Perform any other duties assigned within the position classification area.
