Legal Case Manager

Join St. Louis County, MO in making a difference in the lives of those affected by domestic violence. We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Legal Case Manager to join our team.
About the Role:This part-time position (34 hours/week) is housed in a domestic violence shelter located in North County. The successful candidate will provide general support services, including shelter, food, clothing, and safety to clients in a shelter care program for abused women and their children.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct services in accordance with agency policies and procedures
- Offer crisis intervention support by phone and in person
- Provide general and legal advocacy services for clients
- Evaluate crisis situations and screen clients for agency services
- Interview clients for agency services and establish relationships to help them express their feelings and attitudes
- Communicate with other agencies regarding services to meet the client's needs
- Coordinate school enrollment for children in shelter and serve as liaison to the school administration
- Provide age-appropriate groups and activities for children
- Provide consistent and accurate referral services
- Participate in the Court Watch Program
- Provide emergency transportation, supplies, and support services to clients as needed
- Participate in staff meetings
- Evaluate the services being provided by the agency in relation to specified goals and standards
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor Degree in Social Work or related field
- At least 2 years' experience working in a domestic violence shelter
- Knowledge of women's issues and the dynamics of family violence and its effects on children
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to gain the confidence of and establish good relationships with clients and their children
- Commitment to making use of the empowerment/therapeutic model employed by the center
- Ability to work with a variety of clients often under stressful circumstances
- Flexibility is essential
St. Louis County offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, including paid medical insurance, 20 days of PTO, and 11 paid holidays.
