About the Position

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Personnel of the DoD Workforce to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

Responsibilities
  • Respond on-site to accidents and other emergencies involving injury and illnesses, and sometimes encounters situations which may be life threatening.
  • Attend patients during medical evacuation, ground and helicopter.
  • Prioritize treatments for patients having multiple problems and employ a variety of established emergency medicine techniques, methods and equipment to the appropriate medical facility.
  • Conduct a complete examination of the patient to determine the nature, extent, and seriousness of his condition and searches for medical alert symbols.
  • Based on this preliminary assessment, independently make choices as to how best to provide stabilizing medical interventions prescribed in protocols and, if necessary, make modifications to these protocols within prescribed limits.
  • Independently gather as much information as possible about the victim, the cause, and effects of the illness/injury in a short time in order to quickly initiate medical treatment.

Selection is subject to restrictions resulting from Department of Defense referral system for displaced employees. This is a Career Program (CP) 53 - Medical position. Multiple positions may be filled from this announcement. Salary includes applicable locality pay or Local Market Supplement. Payment of Permanent Change of Station (PCS) costs is not authorized, based on a determination that a PCS move is not in the Government interest. Due to COVID-19, the agency is currently in an expanded telework posture. If selected, you may be expected to temporarily telework, even if your home is located outside the local commuting area. Once employees are permitted to return to the office, you will be expected to report to the duty station listed on this announcement within a designated time frame identified by the organization. At that time, you may be eligible to request to continue to telework one or more days a pay period depending upon the terms of the agency's telework policy.
