Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Luminis Health. As an Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in evaluating patients for occupational therapy services and providing therapeutic intervention according to departmental standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive occupational evaluations to develop effective treatment plans tailored to patients' rehabilitation needs.
  • Select and utilize a variety of treatment techniques to promote patient progress and independence.
  • Accurately document patients' responses to treatment and support medical necessity for continued skilled care.
  • Consistently record patients' vital signs and provide education to patients and families according to departmental standards.
  • Develop and update functional and measurable goals in occupational therapy plans of care, adhering to departmental standards.
  • Provide technical supervision, direction, and support to Occupational Therapy Assistants, Rehab Aides, students, and volunteers.
  • Meet departmental productivity standards and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other clinicians to enhance knowledge of occupational therapy and identify the need for occupational therapy services.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, in-services, and continuing education seminars to stay current with best practices.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Outpatient Rehabilitation or related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Current license to practice Occupational Therapy by the Maryland Board of Occupational Therapy Practice.
  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS CPR certification.
Working Conditions

Employees in this position may be exposed to blood-borne pathogens. The physical demands of this role include heavy lifting, exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
