About This Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance Inspector to join our team in Decatur, Illinois.
Job Description:
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring implementation and execution of the Quality Management System (QMS) and verifying products are produced in accordance with product realization design.
Main Responsibilities:
- Safety:
- Set an example for all plant employees by performing all quality functions in a safe manner and encourage safety as a staff member on the plant floor.
- Ensure outside visitors are aware of and comply with Nortrak safety practices and requirements.
- Quality:
- Perform appropriate inspections to ensure that product realization processes meet all applicable specifications and standards.
- Conduct internal process audits to verify QMS effectiveness.
- Maintain and control quality records associated with product verification, measuring equipment calibration, and material certification.
- Inspect, test, and measure all finishing materials.
- Ensure operations and productions follow company standards.
- Actively ensure compliance with Nortrak's QMS.
- On-Time Delivery:
- Perform duties required to ensure customer delivery commitments can be met and file quality records in a timely manner.
- Costs:
- Implement the Non-conformance and Gauge Control Programs.
- Review plant processes and proactively recommend material and process improvements.
- People:
- Act as a resource to management and plant employees by promoting quality products and helping train employees to avoid production of non-conforming product.
- Effectively liaise with customer inspectors.
- The QA inspector reports directly to the Manager, QA.
- Environmental:
- Adhere to Nortrak's Environmental Procedures, Practices, and Policies.
Requirements:
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or other suitable discipline.
- Vocational technical training in quality assurance-related fields is preferred.
- At least 1-3 years' related experience in inspection or at least 2 years' experience within Nortrak employment.
- Knowledge in using variety of industry tools for calibration purposes.
- Inspection, testing, or measuring materials or products being produced.
- Knowledge of reading blueprints and specifications.
- Monitoring operations to ensure production standards.
- Assembly or production processes.
- Sound knowledge of MS Office standard, MS Projects, and special programs (i.e., MS Vision, MS SharePoint).
Salary and Benefits:
The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000-$80,000, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a retirement plan.
Working Location:
