Pathology Transcription Specialist

• POSITION OVERVIEW
  • Accurately transcribes all pathology dictations provided by pathologists, ensuring effective communication within the pathology department.
• POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Education and Experience: A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with a certification in transcription training or equivalent experience.
    
    Knowledge Base: Familiarity with medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, clinical practices, surgical procedures, diagnostic testing, and transcription standards is essential.
    
    Skill Set: Proficient in understanding various accents, dialects, and dictation styles; adept at utilizing reference materials; capable of operating computers, software applications, dictation, and transcription devices. Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary, including a solid grasp of English grammar, punctuation, and style; excellent listening abilities; and exceptional coordination of visual, auditory, and manual tasks.
    
    Competencies: Ability to work autonomously with minimal oversight, manage time effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, and review work for accuracy.
