Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Medical Tissue Recovery Specialist to join our team at Saving Sight. As an integral part of our mission, you will play a vital role in recovering corneal tissue for transplant and research purposes.

About the Role

In this dynamic position, you will be responsible for performing technical procedures with precision, collecting essential medical data, and adhering to strict aseptic techniques. Your attention to detail and commitment to excellence will directly impact the lives of individuals in need of vision restoration.

Your Responsibilities
  • Precision recovery: You will perform delicate surgical procedures to recover corneal tissue, ensuring the highest quality for transplantation and research.
  • Data collection: You will gather critical medical information, including behavioral and laboratory data, to ensure accurate donor screening.
  • Ethical stewardship: You will uphold the dignity and respect of donors by using aseptic techniques, maintaining a clean environment, and adhering to industry standards.
Requirements
  • Tissue recovery experience: You possess a strong background in tissue recovery, with expertise in handling blood products and adhering to aseptic protocols.
  • Empathy: You genuinely care about people and understand the significance of your work in restoring vision.
  • Compliance: You adhere to regulatory standards, including LWVI Policies, EBAA Medical Standards, and FDA Good Tissue Practices.
