Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Principal Engineer to join our Project Condor team as the RAN Architecture and Design SME.

This critical role will impact the user experience of millions of customers, requiring a deep understanding of RAN vendor software and hardware, as well as expertise in 5G wireless design and optimization.

Responsibilities
  • Manage software releases and new hardware for the commercial network
  • Validate, test, and request new features for production rollout
  • Define, publish, and manage Golden Parameter Lists
  • Plan and incorporate 3GPP features for long-term network improvements
  • Work with Lab and Field testing teams to define test plans and troubleshoot issues
  • Manage spectrum portfolio and CBRS-related network issues with the SAS
  • Develop solutions to maximize PAL and GAA CBRS spectrum combinations
  • Develop best practices for RAN-related issues observed in the network
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for Performance, Optimization, Transport, Device, and Operations teams
  • Develop a forward-looking roadmap to identify key RAN network functions, features, and hardware
  • Manage RAN capacity and forecasting to predict growth and capacity offload
Qualifications
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • 10+ years of RF experience and LTE/5G wireless design, optimization, and network management
  • 5+ years of experience on 5G RAN, preferably 5G SA
  • 5+ years of vendor management
  • In-depth experience and understanding of SA RAN vendor features, parameters, including SON features, preferably for Samsung
  • Significant experience with defining and managing Golden Parameter Lists
  • In-depth understanding of 3GPP roadmap and new features, signaling, and procedures
  • Subject matter expert of 5G call flows, counters, KPI formulas, and link budgets
  • Knowledge of the wireless industry and technologies, frequency spectrum, and propagation characteristics
  • Experience with planning and optimization of small cell networks
  • Working knowledge of the CBRS band rules and regulations & SAS interface/functions
  • Understanding of functioning of DOCSIS cable networks and architecture
  • Atoll and GIS tool expertise
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools and MS Teams
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and teamwork skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of Dual SIM Dual Standby
  • Experience with Samsung 5G RAN and USM
  • Experience with CBRS spectrum, SAS provider, and CBRS CPI certified
  • Hands-on knowledge of NetScout tools: TrueCall, nBA, nSA, nG1
  • Experience with Accuver ARTS, XCAL, & XCAP with ability to analyze Layer 3 logs
  • Competent with Site Tracker, Blue Planet, Tableau, QGIS
  • Experience with CMTS and WIFI AP troubleshooting
