About the Role:

American Electric Power Company, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Energy Field Sales Representative to join our team in Jefferson and Harrison County. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for generating business by working an assigned territory, visiting residential houses, and selling electricity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Generate business by working an assigned territory, visiting up to 30-50 residential houses per day, and selling electricity.
  • Use a consultative selling approach to educate and increase customers' awareness of their energy choice and the competitive advantage of choosing AEP Energy Partners.
  • Provide potential customers with pricing and effectively close the sale.
  • Assure quality and accurate representation of products and maintain a professional image on behalf of the Company.

Requirements:

  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Reliable form of personal transportation to use during work hours.
  • Auto insurance coverage that satisfies the minimum requirement for the state of Ohio.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One of the following work experiences: three months of phone or face-to-face customer service experience, three months of leadership experience in a club or organization, or prior military experience.
