Key Responsibilities

The Journeyman Electrician plays a crucial role in maintaining operational integrity and troubleshooting plant control systems. This position is essential for ensuring the plant's systems remain functional and efficient. The Electrician will be tasked with calibrating the plant's instrumentation and must possess a solid understanding of instrumentation and plant control systems, including PLCs and ladder logic. The Electrician will work closely with the Production team and is empowered to prioritize safety, including the authority to halt production if safety concerns arise.

Compensation: $36.00-$39.00 per hour (based on experience). Night shift employees will receive an additional $1.20/hr shift differential.

Essential Functions:
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Flexibility to adapt to production schedules
  • Capability to work under pressure
  • Strong independent prioritization of tasks
Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update plant documentation, including red-lining prints
  • Assist in developing plant procedures and safety protocols
  • Communicate logic changes to production staff
  • Perform routine calibration on instrumentation
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control-related issues
  • Adhere to safety protocols and wear appropriate PPE
  • Exhibit initiative and sound judgment in all tasks
Physical and Mental Requirements:
  • Climbing ladders to heights exceeding 10' (5%)
  • Walking throughout the plant (20%)
  • Standing (5%)
  • Sitting (20%)
  • Reading for information (10%)
  • Physical dexterity: squatting, bending, lifting, etc. (5%)
  • Troubleshooting (35%)
Problem-Solving:

Decisions made will impact the repair or modification of electrical wiring, electronic equipment, and software, affecting the plant's production capabilities. The Electrician/Systems Technician must utilize established practices, plant regulations, manuals, and independent reasoning to effectively troubleshoot issues.

Knowledge and Experience:

Minimum qualifications include being a Journeyman-level Electrician, with a preferred 2-year degree or equivalent vocational training focused on instrumentation and industrial control. A minimum of 5 years of experience in instrumentation and process control within a manufacturing environment is required, along with knowledge of PLCs and ladder logic.
