Job Responsibilities:- Monitor cardiac and other critical vital signs and detect any changes to enable intervention of life-threatening or emergency situations.
- Respond to Code Blue within the facility and initiate protocol, special procedures, and cardiac monitoring.
- Manage efficient patient flow, including screening, preparation for exams, providing general nursing care, and arranging testing and admissions.
- Instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment instructions.
- Maintain and review patients' records, including posting tests and examination results.
- Administer medications in accordance with physician orders.
- Check rooms daily for necessary supplies.
- Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls (may include phone triage when needed).
- A graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
- Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider certification is required.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider certification is preferred and required to be obtained within 6 months of hire/transfer date.
- A minimum of 1 year previous acute nursing experience is required.
We are a 445-bed hospital system comprised of two acute care hospitals and three freestanding emergency departments. We provide care to nearly 375,000 South Carolina Low country residents each year. Our team of over 2,600 employees, 500 physicians, and 130 volunteers are dedicated to fulfilling our mission of delivering exceptional patient care and supporting our colleagues in their roles.
