Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team in Chelsea, Massachusetts.
This is a full-time position with a 36-hour workweek, offering a flexible evening/night rotation.
Key Responsibilities- Perform magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) studies using a magnetic resonance device, preparing patients, positioning, setting imaging parameters, and displaying images.
- Select appropriate imaging protocol for patient studies and perform quality assurance scans as required.
- Demonstrate the ability to work cohesively as a team member within the MRI Department.
- Prepare patients for and perform intravenous injection of MR contrast agents, understanding and communicating possible contraindications and monitoring for adverse reactions.
- Record all information regarding contrast injections and ensure adherence to safety practices by all persons entering the MRI area.
- Review outpatient and/or inpatient schedules to confirm exams have been protocoled and reviewed for potential contra-indications.
- Act as the final checkpoint for patient safety and protocol clarification.
- Work to prepare inpatients for MRI examinations by performing inpatient MRI screening, multidisciplinary care-coordination, and integrating ancillary MRI-safe equipment to ensure efficient and effective imaging.
- Communicate with Radiologists for protocol clarification when necessary and use designated department protocols.
- Assist in the instruction of visitors and medical staff rotating through the area, explaining patient procedures, processing, equipment operation, safety practices, etc.
- Mentor new staff and fellow technologists as necessary.
- ARRT (MR) certification required.
- Completion of a Medical Imaging Program.
- Advanced MR certification required within 18 months of hire date.
