Overview

The Truck Scale Operator is tasked with overseeing the entire process of weighing vehicles. This role encompasses various responsibilities, including weighing trucks, documenting all relevant data in a digital weighing system, generating reports, and maintaining records. It is essential to ensure precise and thorough documentation of all scale transactions for incoming and outgoing vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review documentation and cargo for both incoming and outgoing trucks. Input all necessary information into the computer system.
  • Prepare daily reports and manage logs, spreadsheets, and other documentation as required.
  • Monitor and record the gross, tare, and net weights of vehicles.
  • Carry out additional duties as assigned.
Essential Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is mandatory; an Associate's degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of four years of experience with computerized scale systems and related software and equipment.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Familiarity and expertise with computerized scale systems and similar software and equipment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with a diverse range of customers, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Ability to work independently while adhering to safety policies and procedures.
Physical and Environmental Requirements:
  • Physical:
    • Continuous sitting, seeing, hearing, and smelling.
    • Ongoing problem-solving, oral and written communication, analytical skills, and interpersonal abilities.
    • Frequent eye/hand coordination, typing, handling, and wrist motion.
    • Occasional bending, reaching, stretching, standing, and walking.
  • Environmental:
    • Continuous exposure to dust, smoke, fumes, odors, and noise.
    • Occasional exposure to grease, oil, chemicals, and wet conditions.
    • This position is office-based only.
Compensation: $16.04 - $22.68 per hour
