Combustion Turbine Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Combustion Turbine Technician to join our team at Duke Energy. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of our combustion turbine facilities, ensuring the safe and efficient generation of electricity for millions of people.

• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on combustion turbine equipment, including steam turbines, gas turbines, and other related systems.
• Monitor and troubleshoot equipment performance, identifying and resolving issues to minimize downtime and optimize efficiency.
• Conduct regular inspections and testing to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement maintenance plans, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
• Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced technicians, promoting knowledge sharing and skill development.

• Technical or Associate's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in combustion turbine maintenance and operation, or related field.
• Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and maintenance management systems.
• Ability to work at heights, in confined spaces, and in extreme temperatures.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel up to 10% for training and support.

• Experience with large heavy gas turbine and steam turbine supplier technologies.
• High voltage and substation maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
• Experience with mechanical and electronic field testing equipment.
• Knowledge of heavy lifting cranes and rigging requirements.

This position requires frequent overtime, including weekend work and holidays. You must be able to work/respond on short notice to support planned/unplanned/emergency site events. You will be required to wear a respirator and must be able to successfully complete a physical and respirator fit test on an annual or as needed basis.
