The Sanitation Technician will play a critical role in maintaining a clean and safe working environment at Ferrara Pan Candy Co., Inc. This position is responsible for planning, directing, and controlling daily and nightly cleaning activities to meet established standards.
Key Responsibilities- Sanitation and Cleaning: Manage plant sanitation procedures, programs, and regulatory requirements to ensure all plant equipment is clean and safe for production.
- Adherence to Standards: Strictly adhere to sanitation, GMP, and safety standards to maintain a high level of quality and safety.
- Cleaning and Sanitation Activities: Perform cleaning and sanitation activities according to Master Sanitation Schedules for the facility interior and exterior, ensuring superior sanitation of equipment and surrounding areas.
- Quality and Sanitation Improvements: Participate in regular meetings with plant management to discuss quality and sanitation improvements.
- Problem Resolution: Facilitate problem resolution related to sanitation and sanitation quality issues.
- Work Order Management: Follow up on work orders with the appropriate associates to ensure expeditious performance of the requested work and verify/validate with signature.
- Chemical Management: Monitor the Chemical storage and dispense the appropriate concentration for cleaning activities.
- Inventory Management: Receive and track sanitary and chemical inventory.
- Team Supervision: Monitor sanitation team in the use of chemicals and proper safety procedures, checking inventory levels of chemicals and ordering supplies when necessary.
- Company Values and Policies: Understand and demonstrate the Company's core values and operating principles, adhering to all company policies and procedures.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years sanitation experience in the food-industry preferred.
- Knowledge: Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, HACCP, BRC food safety, and GMP principles.
- Skills: Sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines, self-directed, strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to plan, organize, and prioritize, ability to work under pressure and meet established goals and objectives.
- Education: Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office software.
