Butch's Companies is seeking a skilled and experienced Oilfield Driver to join our team. As a key member of our transportation team, you will be responsible for hauling tools and equipment to and from location, ensuring safe and legal loads on a 24/7 on-call basis.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure the weight of shipments is accurately recorded and documented.
- Properly bind loads to ensure safe transportation.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance to ensure optimal performance.
- Ensure trucks are properly inspected and compliant with all D.O.T. requirements.
- Operate on lease roads safely and efficiently, with the ability to find job sites in a timely manner.
- Make numerous hot-shot runs or local pick-ups and deliveries in a company vehicle, safely and within the boundaries of the law.
- Maintain accurate driver qualification records and driving records.
- Be willing to train and assist in the shop or field when not driving.
- Work on a 24-hour call basis, with a focus on delivering high-quality work assignments.
- Comply with all safety rules and company policies.
- Ensure personal training is up-to-date.
- Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid CDL that meets company policy.
- Experience in oilfield transportation (SSE to 6 months).
- Ability to read and comprehend simple oral and written instructions.
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
- Ability to follow directions.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, professional journals, technical procedures, and/or government regulations.
- Basic mathematical skills, including reading measurements and learning key metrics.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Multi-tasking skills.
- Frequent heavy work, typical of an oilfield job.
- Exposure to outdoor weather elements, high noise, and potential chemicals and fumes or gases.
- Standing or walking 50% of the time, with frequent bending, squatting, reaching, or climbing.
- Lifting, pulling, or pushing tools and equipment up to 50lbs in a safe manner.
- Working at heights related to rig floor, averaging 40' decks.
- Ability to work in a 24/7 environment.
- Ability to work extended hours on location and/or away from home for extended periods.
- Exposure to moderate to high noise and potential chemicals and fumes or gases in a shop environment or on location, if necessary.
