Medical Laboratory Specialist

As a Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Technician at Sonic Healthcare, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality laboratory services to our patients. Your expertise in performing routine and complex analytical tests will provide accurate data to the healthcare team, enabling optimal diagnosis and treatment monitoring of disease states.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform a range of laboratory tests on human body fluids and tissues to provide accurate data to the healthcare team.
- Analyze, review, and report testing results to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment.
- Recognize and implement effective solutions to correct any issues that may arise during testing.
- Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards, maintaining a safe and compliant workspace.
- Champion safety, compliance, and quality control, adhering to industry standards and regulations.
- Bachelor's Degree in medical technology or a related science from an accredited program.
- Current and active certification from the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) as a laboratory scientist (MLS), formerly known as MT/CLS or American Medical Technologist, as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) (AMT).
- Strong reading, writing, and analytical skills, with the ability to operate general laboratory equipment.
- 2+ years of laboratory experience in a hospital/commercial lab setting.
