Job Overview

Position Summary

Mainstream Engineering is seeking skilled thermal systems engineers to create innovative solutions for a diverse range of clients, including military, governmental, and commercial sectors. Our projects encompass tailored systems that include single-phase pumped loops, vapor compression cycles, and advanced thermal management solutions. Current initiatives focus on enhancing the performance of hypersonic vehicles, enabling compact laser weapon systems, and optimizing aerospace component efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop components such as cold plates, heat exchangers, and thermal storage devices.
  • Lead projects from concept through to production, engaging in ideation, research, prototyping, testing, and manufacturing design.
  • Utilize cutting-edge techniques, including microchannel cooling and additive manufacturing, to drive innovation.
  • Conduct analytical calculations and computational simulations (CFD and FEA) to support design decisions.
  • Engage directly with clients to understand their needs and present solutions.

Qualifications

  • Strong alignment with our core values, including problem-solving, intellectual curiosity, and a service-oriented mindset.
  • Hands-on experience in laboratory testing and product development.
  • Educational background: BSME, MSME, or PhD.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory due to ITAR regulations.
  • Minimum GPA of 3.3 across all degrees.
  • Proficient understanding of heat transfer, thermodynamics, and fluid dynamics.
  • Experience with data acquisition systems, preferably LabVIEW, and familiarity with sensors for temperature, pressure, and flow.
  • Experience in CFD/FEA modeling, particularly with ANSYS/FLUENT, is advantageous.
