Neonatology Positions Available
Pediatrix Medical Group is actively seeking a qualified Neonatologist to enhance our practice in a vibrant region known for its agricultural and recreational offerings. Our facility features a 15-bed Level IIIA NICU, catering to the needs of South Central Washington.
This center serves as the regional perinatal hub for Yakima County and its neighboring areas, including four federally designated critical access hospitals and a larger rural facility. With an annual delivery rate of approximately 2,500 births, we are the sole Level III NICU within a 70-mile radius.
About the NICU: With over four decades of dedicated service, our NICU is committed to delivering exceptional neonatal care to a thriving rural community. The average daily patient census is around 10, and we are in the process of revitalizing our comprehensive services in collaboration with high-quality community obstetric and maternal-fetal medicine providers.
Our facility offers standard mechanical ventilation and bubble CPAP support, although we currently do not provide high-frequency ventilation or inhaled nitric oxide.
Comprehensive Support Team: Our multidisciplinary team includes Speech/Language Pathologists, Occupational Therapists, and Physical Therapists who offer consultations, neurodevelopmental evaluations, and recommendations for supportive therapies.
We maintain a collaborative relationship with our sister practice in Spokane, conducting weekly meetings to review clinical guidelines, host journal clubs, and present morbidity and mortality conferences.
Our established partnerships with three prominent children's hospitals in the state ensure that we can provide necessary pediatric support for complex cases requiring advanced NICU care or ongoing specialty services post-discharge.
Physicians typically work in 5-day blocks with the convenience of on-call duties from home, promoting a balanced work-life dynamic. The Yakima area is an outdoor enthusiast's dream, boasting an average of 300 sunny days annually, with diverse landscapes that include mountains, deserts, and farmland.
This region offers a variety of seasonal outdoor activities such as hiking, skiing, and fishing, alongside a rich agricultural heritage that supports local produce and renowned vineyards.
Yakima is conveniently located within a short drive from major urban centers, providing access to big city amenities while maintaining a lower cost of living and diverse housing options.
Compensation and Benefits: Our clinicians enjoy a competitive salary range of $210,000 to $275,000, based on experience, along with potential annual bonuses. Full-time employees and their eligible dependents benefit from a comprehensive health insurance package, dental and vision coverage, life insurance, and various retirement savings options.
Pediatrix Medical Group is the leading provider of physician services in the nation, dedicated to delivering coordinated, compassionate, and clinically excellent care across the continuum for women, infants, and children.
