Position Overview
The Registered Nurse plays a pivotal role in delivering exceptional patient care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at St. Joseph's Healthcare System. This position involves working the night shift from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and compassionate nursing services.
Key Responsibilities
The RN is responsible for employing the Nursing Process collaboratively to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in alignment with their professional scope of practice. This role is integral to upholding the values and mission of the Nursing Department within the healthcare system.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred, providing a strong foundation in nursing theories and principles.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of New Jersey is mandatory.
- Completion of department-specific orientation and certifications, including Basic Life Support (BLS), is required within the first year of employment.
As of January 2019, St. Joseph's Healthcare System mandates that certifications for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) be obtained through the American Heart Association.
