We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional to join our team at Caregiver, Inc. in Strawberry Plains, TN.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will provide direct support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, facilitating daily living activities, social skills, and community access. The ideal candidate will be a team player, committed to creating a world-class experience for our clients.
Responsibilities:- Assist consumers with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, dining skills, and housekeeping skills.
- Provide direct support and training to consumers as specified in ISPs and activity schedules.
- Aid in mobility and assist with meal service, promoting social skills and personal dignity.
- Administer medications and treatments according to company policy.
- Act as a Primary Person (P2) for one or more consumers, ensuring their wellbeing at all times.
- Attend and successfully complete in-service training sessions as scheduled.
- Participate as a member of the Individual Support Team, contributing to the development of consumer ISPs.
- Monitor consumers' activities to ensure safety and health care practices are observed.
- Perform related duties as required or assigned to fulfill the agency philosophy and program site goals.
- A high school education or its equivalent is preferred.
- Some previous experience in supporting/assisting individuals with disabilities is preferred.
- Must be eighteen (18) years of age.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record is preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
