Phlebotomy Specialist

As a Phlebotomist at Huntsville Memorial Hospital, you will play a vital role in the healthcare team by collecting and processing patient specimens for laboratory testing. This is an excellent opportunity to join our dedicated staff and contribute to delivering high-quality patient care.

Salary: $35,000 - $45,000 per year, depending on experience.

This full-time position involves working evening shifts, rotating days off, and participating in an on-call rotation as required. The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting blood samples from patients, performing various clerical duties, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collecting blood samples from patients using venipuncture, finger sticks, or heel sticks.
• Performing departmental tasks such as restocking supplies, taking temperatures, centrifuging specimens, and other related duties.
• Verifying patient identification through the use of two identifiers and ensuring accuracy in labeling specimens.
• Organizing workload to collect all specimens, transport them to the laboratory, receive and distribute them in a timely manner.
• Enters test orders and maintains a clean and organized workspace.

To succeed in this role, you will need:

• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of hospital laboratory experience preferred.
• Possession of a Phlebotomy certification program with national registry is an asset.
