About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Pastry Cook to join our team at Blue Hill at Stone Barns, a two-Michelin star restaurant and leading voice in the sustainable food movement. As a Pastry Cook, you will assist our Sous Chefs and Executive Chef Dan Barber in creating innovative desserts that showcase our commitment to regenerative farming and exciting flavor.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in the development and implementation of dessert recipes and menus.
  • Understand dietary restrictions and adapt menu items accordingly.
  • Help create and execute daily mise en place lists.
  • Check ingredient quality and prepare ingredients for dishes.
  • Collaborate with the front of house team to ensure seamless service and culinary R&D programs.
  • Attend Cook's meetings and tour trainings.
  • Maintain equipment, tools, and workspace.
  • Comply with health department standards and maintain a clean work environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a restaurant environment or equivalent knowledge and experience with commercial kitchen equipment and procedures.
  • Familiarity with advanced culinary techniques and diverse baking and pastry methods.
  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
