This role involves working under the guidance of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to deliver both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at enhancing students' speech and language abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the evaluation of students' speech and language capabilities to determine their strengths and areas needing improvement.
  • Implement treatment strategies designed by the licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Conduct therapy sessions to foster improvements in articulation, language understanding, and overall communication skills.
  • Collaborate with educators, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
  • Maintain thorough and organized records of therapy sessions, progress notes, and treatment plans.
  • Engage in professional development through meetings, training sessions, and workshops to stay updated on effective therapy methods.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of an Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related discipline is required.
  • Possession of an active Texas SLPA License is mandatory.
  • Prior experience working with school-aged children facing speech and language difficulties is preferred.
  • Familiarity with various therapeutic approaches, including AAC, PROMPT, and social communication strategies, is advantageous.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working with educators and families.
