We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to support students with communication challenges in a school environment. This role involves working under the guidance of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to deliver both individual and group therapy sessions aimed at enhancing students' speech and language abilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the evaluation of students' speech and language capabilities to determine their strengths and areas needing improvement.
- Implement treatment strategies designed by the licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Conduct therapy sessions to foster improvements in articulation, language understanding, and overall communication skills.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive support for each student.
- Maintain thorough and organized records of therapy sessions, progress notes, and treatment plans.
- Engage in professional development through meetings, training sessions, and workshops to stay updated on effective therapy methods.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of an Associate's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related discipline is required.
- Possession of an active Texas SLPA License is mandatory.
- Prior experience working with school-aged children facing speech and language difficulties is preferred.
- Familiarity with various therapeutic approaches, including AAC, PROMPT, and social communication strategies, is advantageous.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working with educators and families.
