Family Community Engagement Specialist

The Family Community Engagement Specialist plays a vital role in fostering positive relationships between the district and the community. This position is responsible for developing and implementing effective family and community engagement strategies at the school and district level.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with school leaders and community partners to develop and implement family and community engagement strategies.
- Identify and provide resources and training opportunities to support the engagement needs of diverse school communities.
- Provide technical assistance and support to schools in implementing family and community engagement practices.
- Assist schools in developing and sustaining School Family Councils and organized parent groups.
- Facilitate communications between school personnel, families, and community partners.
- Serve as a liaison between the Engagement Office, school personnel, families, and community partners.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Three years' experience developing and facilitating training opportunities for adult learners.
- Three years' experience in systems change, community organizing, communications, or development in a nonprofit, government, or business setting.
- Experience working with schools, community-based, or family-supporting organizations.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to make effective public presentations.
- Excellent organization skills and follow-through.
- Ability to analyze data and systems that can affect parents.
- Interpersonal skills that emphasize team building.
- Ability to engage parent/community in school activities.
- Ability to organize networks of support for programs or initiatives.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-paced environment, with deadlines, and multiple stakeholder viewpoints.
- Proficiency in using computer applications, such as databases, word processing, email, and website applications.
