Job Title: RN Emergency Room FT 7PM

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Emergency Department at Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital. As a Clinical Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality, individualized patient-centered care to a diverse patient population.

Responsibilities:

  1. Utilize the nursing process to anticipate and plan to meet patient and family needs.
  2. Conduct thorough nursing assessments to identify subtle changes in clinical situations and evaluate the plan of care.
  3. Develop and maintain a therapeutic nurse-patient relationship throughout the healthcare continuum.
  4. Communicate effectively with patients, families, and colleagues using the SBAR method.
  5. Perform documentation of patient care, including assessment, interdisciplinary plan of care, implementation, evaluation, and the Watson Model of Care.
  6. Anticipate variables affecting patient comfort and alter physical and psychosocial interventions accordingly.
  7. Assist patients and families to maximize their sense of control and actively participate in their recovery.
  8. Work collaboratively with Care Managers to coordinate interdisciplinary discharge planning.
  9. Review all orders on patients and communicate changes in patient condition with physicians and other team members.
  10. Evaluate the effectiveness of nursing interventions and document outcomes in the IPOC.
  11. Utilize patient classification systems according to standards.
  12. Demonstrate ability to plan, supervise, instruct, and evaluate ancillary nursing personnel, floats, orientees, and registry staff.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Sciences degree in nursing preferred.
  • Associates in nursing required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of clinical nursing experience in Emergency Department nursing.
  • Current California Nursing license.
  • Certification in Emergency Department Nursing preferred.
  • Bilingual skills preferred (Spanish).
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS).
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
  • Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
  • Current Managing Aggressive Behavior (MAB) within 90 days of hire or notification requirement.
