Job Overview

Position Summary:
The Facilities Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring that all vacant units are meticulously prepared for new residents and that maintenance requests are addressed promptly. This position may involve stepping into the Lead Maintenance role during their absence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage the inventory of parts, supplies, and equipment.
  • Assist fellow maintenance personnel as required.
  • Engage in property inspections on a quarterly basis.
  • Ensure the exterior areas are free of litter at the end of each shift.
  • Support the Lead Maintenance as necessary.
  • Prepare vacant units for new occupants.
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to all residents.
  • May be required to assist at other properties as needed.
  • Availability for on-call duties is necessary.

Essential Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of relevant experience demonstrating necessary skills.
  • Ability to handle moderately complex tasks requiring sound judgment for problem-solving and routine recommendations.
  • Experience in unit preparation is advantageous, with a solid understanding of plumbing, electrical systems, and pool maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Fair Housing for Apartment Maintenance Technicians.
  • Additional certifications (e.g., HVAC) are a plus.
  • Familiarity with OSHA regulations is beneficial.


Work Environment:
Exposure to potentially infectious materials may occur. Training and personal protective equipment will be provided for tasks that involve cleaning bodily fluids.

Physical Demands:
CONSTANTLY: standing/walking, bending/stooping/squatting, pushing/pulling, grasping/gripping, reaching above shoulder level, climbing, lifting up to 25 pounds.
FREQUENTLY: coordination of hand/eye/foot, finger dexterity, lifting between 26 and 50 pounds.
Assistance at other supportive housing communities may be required as needed.

Compensation:
$19.00/hour
