Job Title: Certified Art Therapist

We are seeking a Certified Art Therapist to join our team at Reach for Resources Inc. as a part-time Art Therapist. The successful candidate will plan and facilitate art therapy sessions for individuals with disabilities, promoting cognitive and emotional well-being.

Job Summary

The Art Therapist will work independently to manage their schedule, complete necessary paperwork, and conduct sessions in various settings. This is a growing program, and the hours will be limited at first, with the option to increase over time.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan goal-focused programs for identified individuals
  • Employ psychotherapeutic techniques to improve cognitive and emotional well-being
  • Evaluate participants' behaviors during art therapy sessions
  • Effectively communicate progress and goals for participants
  • Encourage participant reflection during art therapy sessions
  • Conduct assessments as needed
  • Respond to referrals in a timely fashion and schedule sessions independently
  • Keep detailed notes and evaluations of program and participant progress
Requirements
  • Certification in Art Therapy (ATR)
  • Ability to make appointments that fit your schedule and conduct sessions independently
  • A genuine liking for working with people of all abilities
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work as a member of a team
  • Must have current driver's license in good standing and maintain own reliable transportation
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to lift to 30 lbs.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MA degree in art therapy
  • Evening and/or weekend availability
  • Knowledge of community inclusion
  • Group leadership experience
  • At least 1 year experience working with individuals with disabilities
