VINCI Construction Grands Projets USA is seeking a skilled CAD Design Technician to join our team. As a CAD Design Technician, you will play a crucial role in preparing plans for engineering and construction projects, including highway, bridge, and tunnel components.
Key Responsibilities- Develop means and methods drawings for construction methods, sequence of works, temporary works, formwork definition, lifting operations, and logistic issues, including scaffolding and accesses.
- Ensure that all requirements from employers and parties are met, and no objections can be provided to permanent construction.
- Develop drawings using workflows set in the CAD Manual and ensure compliance with required standards using designated software.
- Collaborate with engineers, surveyors, managers, and other departments to integrate quality and safety measurements and prevent risks in execution methods and sequence drawings.
- Report on the progress of design development and circulate drawings to the design or construction team for review and integration of comments.
- Assist the engineering department in creating standards, libraries, and templates, and train and mentor junior drafters.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as a CAD Designer/Drafter in the construction industry and in infrastructure works (roadway, bridge, tunnel, or similar).
- Minimum 2 years' experience using AutoCAD Civil 3D software.
- Minimum 1 year experience on Formwork, Work Sequences, and Construction Methods drawings.
- Experience in infrastructure 3D Modeling, including building pads, alignment and profile design, roadway modeling, DTM modeling, drainage, cross sections, and quantity take-offs.
- Experience with Microstation GEOPAK SS4 or Bentley Openroads designer.
- Knowledge or experience in BIM software, such as Revit, Navisworks, or Synchro.
- Previous experience in tunneling projects and/or large infrastructure projects.
- This role involves a dynamic and challenging work environment.
- Tasks may include maintaining and repairing heavy machinery, ensuring equipment operates efficiently, and adhering to safety protocols in construction sites.
- Required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, safety glasses, and reflective vests when on-site.
- Must be able to lift 25lbs.
- Walking and standing while in-office or on-site.
- Occasional climbing on and off equipment and bending to inspect.
