Job Summary

The Ridges at Peoria is seeking a skilled Certified Caregiver/Med Tech to join our team. As a key member of our Nursing Department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our residents.

Job Responsibilities
  • Provide routine daily nursing care and services to residents in accordance with their assessment and care plan.
  • Assist with simple procedures as an extension of therapy services under the direction and supervision of the nurse.
  • Perform personal care activities, including bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, skin care/nail care, oral hygiene, shaving, and others as directed/requested.
  • Initiate and participate in leisure activities provided for residents, encouraging socialization and participation in planned activities or programs.
  • Observe and document the health and emotional condition of each resident, promptly reporting all changes to the nurse.
  • Promote personal safety and a safe environment for residents by observing infection control practices and following facility guidelines.
Requirements
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.
  • Must be able to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public.
  • Must be able to speak, write, and understand English in a manner that is sufficient for effective communication with supervisors, employees, residents, and families.
  • Must be a licensed Certified Nursing Assistant or a licensed Medication Assistant in accordance with laws of this state.
  • Prefer 6 months or more of experience in a home care, assisted living, or long-term care facility.

  • Constantly: seeing, hearing, tactile sense, talking, standing, walking, reaching, fine motor, grasping, twisting, repetitive motions, lifting (30 lbs, 50 lbs, 75 lbs), crawling, static position, carrying (30 lbs, 50 lbs, 75 lbs).
