Position Summary

The Sushi Culinary Specialist plays a crucial role in our kitchen, responsible for crafting and presenting sushi dishes according to the established recipes provided by the Executive Chef and Sous Chef.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and dismantle the sushi station, ensuring all necessary equipment and utensils are ready for use.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace at all times.
  • Adhere to standardized recipes for all sushi rolls, sauces, and specials.
  • Ensure proper storage and rotation of all ingredients used in the sushi preparation.
  • Efficiently complete orders for both a la carte dining and special events.
  • Assist other kitchen areas with daily tasks beyond sushi preparation.
  • Communicate product and equipment needs to management.
  • Innovate new menu ideas and recipes for weekly specials and future menus.
  • Collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Maintain regular and punctual attendance in accordance with company policies.
  • Adapt to changing responsibilities as required by business needs.
Qualifications
  • Prior experience as a sushi chef in a culinary setting is advantageous.
  • SERV Safe Certification is required.
  • Allergen Awareness Training is essential.
  • Availability to work various shifts, including weekends.
  • Strong multitasking abilities.
  • Effective oral communication skills.
  • Ability to remain composed and professional in a fast-paced environment.
