Assist Ambulance is actively seeking dedicated individuals to fill the role of Emergency Medical Vehicle Operators (MVOs) in our dynamic team. This position offers both part-time and full-time opportunities in a rewarding environment where you will collaborate closely with Emergency Medical Technicians to deliver outstanding emergency medical services, including Basic Life Support.
Role Overview:
This position is highly interactive, requiring regular engagement with patients and staff. You will be responsible for safely transporting patients while navigating through various boroughs, ensuring their comfort and safety.
Training and Certification:
Assist Ambulance provides comprehensive training and evaluates all drivers in accordance with our stringent safety protocols. Additionally, we will facilitate your certification in CPR, enabling you to effectively assist in patient care alongside EMTs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely operate the ambulance while adhering to all traffic regulations.
- Assist in lifting and transporting patients, ensuring their safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with EMTs to provide exceptional care during emergencies.
Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 21 with at least 2 years of driving experience in New York City.
- Valid New York State D Class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Physical capability to lift up to 125 lbs. and pass a lifting assessment.
- Ability to obtain 19A physical clearance and a negative PPD test.
- Successful completion of two driving assessments.
- Pass a 10-panel drug screening, including cannabis/THC.
Commitment:
- Availability for at least two 8-hour shifts per week on consistent days.
