Job Summary

Hire Military Talent is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Paralegal to join our team in the Products Liability department. As a Paralegal, you will provide critical support to our attorneys in preparing and managing complex litigation cases.

Key Responsibilities
  • Case Preparation: Assist attorneys in all stages of litigation cases, from onset through post-trial, including research and analysis.
  • Document Management: Oversee the organization, maintenance, and utilization of documents and other case-related materials.
  • Discovery Process: Assist with the discovery process, including preparing for deposition, propounding and responding to written discovery, and preparing for expert discovery.
  • Document Reviews: Conduct document reviews, prepare documentation regarding criteria changes, track and report on review progress and results.
  • Analytical Tasks: Perform analytical tasks, including preparing witness interview memoranda, reviewing and summarizing documents, deposition, court transcripts, and creating and using substantive coding tools.
  • Law and Motion Practice: Assist with law and motion practice, including assembling motion papers and exhibits, coordinating filings of pleadings and briefs, and ensuring proper service.
  • Trial Preparation: Assist with trial preparation, including creating trial notebooks, identifying and organizing exhibits, coordinating witness schedules, maintaining trial calendars, and communicating effectively with opposing counsel and courtroom staff.
  • Timekeeping: Maintain timely and accurate timekeeping records.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience and Paralegal certification required.
  • eDiscovery Skills: eDiscovery skills and background required.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7 years of experience as a Litigation Paralegal within a law firm with demonstrated knowledge of complex issues within the Litigation practice area.
  • Trial Experience: Trial experience, including exhibit preparation, witness preparation and management, knowledge of subpoena preparation, experience working with judicial assistants and trial presentation vendors, experience assisting attorneys in the courtroom.
  • Computer Skills: Computer proficiency in Windows-based software and Microsoft Office Suite applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Litigation Support Applications: Proficiency with E-filing and litigation support applications such as Concordance, Summation, and Live Note.
