Maintenance Superintendent

MMS Group is seeking a skilled Maintenance Superintendent to oversee the maintenance and repair of our 124-unit residential property in Brooklyn, NY. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the property's common areas and apartments are well-maintained, and will handle all aspects of maintenance, including inspections and preventive maintenance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Efficiently complete all daily work orders
• Communicate any delays in completing a work order with the supervisor in the management office
• Troubleshoot repair and maintenance issues involving electrical, plumbing, appliances, and carpentry
• Work with the office team to ensure all turn-over repairs and services are completed and on schedule
• Maintain accurate records for preventative maintenance-building mechanicals, service requests, and apartment turn-over status
• Respond to after-hours on-call emergencies
• Stay current on all applicable building codes and safety standards
• Maintain trash
• Assist in the proper clearing of snow during a snow event
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, appliance maintenance, and boilers
• Customer service
• Professional, courteous, and friendly demeanor
• Team-player
• Must have a clean driving record and personal, reliable transportation for on-call emergencies
• Minimum high school education or equivalent
• Experience in multifamily maintenance and experience involving public contact preferred
• Valid driver's license and current vehicle insurance
• Required use of the personal automobile for local job-related travel and pick-up, or ability to drive pickup truck and/or van
