Job Overview

The Mammography Technologist plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality imaging services to patients. This position involves performing mammographic procedures on both inpatient and outpatient individuals in accordance with established departmental protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Procedure Execution: Conducts mammographic examinations with precision, ensuring all relevant patient information is reviewed prior to the procedure.
  • Image Processing: Utilizes the PAC system for image processing and ensures timely completion and verification of cases.
  • Patient Interaction: Maintains a respectful and responsive relationship with patients, addressing their physical and psychological needs while explaining procedures clearly.
  • Quality Assurance: Analyzes acquired images for accuracy in positioning and labeling, repeating images as necessary to uphold diagnostic value.
  • Collaboration: Works closely with ultrasound teams to ensure a seamless patient flow and communicates effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Ensures cleanliness and proper functioning of radiographic equipment and work areas, reporting any malfunctions to the appropriate personnel.
Job Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years in mammography is required.
  • Skills: Proficiency in performing screening and diagnostic mammography is essential.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with DEXA and biopsy procedures is advantageous.
