We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Education and Development Lead to join our team at AVANCE-San Antonio, Inc. in San Antonio, TX.

Job Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for the academic, social-emotional, and developmental growth of children in their care, which may include toddlers and/or preschool age children. They will develop partnerships with parents, children, and caregivers to engage and encourage participation in the program.

Responsibilities
  • Promote and model the organization's Core Values.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children while under AVANCE's care.
  • Administer medications according to prescribed instructions and document administration.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding information about children, families, and staff members.
  • Ensure no child is left alone or unsupervised while under our care.
  • Use positive methods of child guidance and adhere to policies prohibiting corporal punishment, emotional or physical abuse, or humiliation.
  • Establish strong relationships with each child's family, encouraging their involvement in the program and promoting parent-child bonding.
  • Provide infants and toddlers with experiences that foster curiosity, initiative, problem-solving skills, and creativity.
  • Conduct developmental screenings of infants' and toddlers' motor, language, social, cognitive, perceptual, and emotional skills as directed.
  • Develop and teach weekly lesson plans for each child according to early childhood standards.
  • Monitor attendance and ensure accurate documentation of in-and-out times.
  • Report suspected neglect, abuse, and medical conditions/illnesses immediately.
  • Meet an average daily attendance goal of at least 85%.
  • Attend required professional development sessions.
  • Encourage parental participation in home visits annually for each child enrolled in a center-based program option.
Requirements
  • Hold an Infant and Toddler CDA (Child Development Associate Credential).
  • Possess an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education or a related field with 18 hours in Early Childhood Education.
  • Show some experience working with infants and toddlers in a child development center or home-based program.
  • Hold CPR and First Aid Training certification.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Exhibit excellent interpersonal, team-building, and communication skills.
  • Have dependable transportation daily, valid driver's license, clean driving record, current auto liability insurance, and be bondable by AVANCE, San Antonio, Inc.
Salary Range

$45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
