About the Role

Custom Engineering Company is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to operate horizontal boring mills, vertical mills, and bridge mills in a fast-paced fabrication environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Set up and remove workpieces from machines according to established procedures
  • Utilize measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to ensure conformance to specified tolerances
  • Perform in-process inspections at machines and adjust offsets as required to ensure workpiece conformance
  • Position and secure workpieces on machines using measuring instruments, holding devices, hand tools, and cranes
  • Study blueprints, layouts, sketches, and work orders to determine tolerances and work procedures
  • Apply knowledge of general machining practices and recognize tooling types and procedures for machining close tolerances

Requirements
  • Trade certification or equivalent experience
  • Experience in CNC operation/schooling
  • Proficient in reading and understanding documents, blueprints, and basic GD&T
  • Knowledge of addition, subtraction, fractions, decimals, and calculate tooling speeds and feeds
  • Proficient knowledge of CNC controls and G-code commands
  • Ability to adjust/set tool lengths, set work offsets, and make adjustments within a program
  • Crane experience
  • Forklift experience
