Job SummaryWe are seeking a compassionate and skilled Residential Caregiver to join our team at Community Residences. In this role, you will provide high-quality care and support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential setting.
ResponsibilitiesAs a Residential Caregiver, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Creating a nurturing environment that promotes independence, socialization, and personal growth;
- Developing and implementing individualized plans of care to meet the unique needs of each client;
- Maintaining accurate records of client progress, including behavioral changes and medical updates;
- Administering medication as prescribed by medical professionals and reporting any errors or concerns to the RN or Program Manager;
- Participating in household management tasks, such as meal planning and preparation, cleaning, and laundry;
- Providing transportation for clients to appointments and outings, while ensuring their safety and well-being;
- Fostering positive relationships with clients, families, and community members through effective communication and customer service skills;
- Staying up-to-date with training and education opportunities to enhance knowledge and skills in providing exceptional care;
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:
- A high school diploma or equivalent, with a minimum of two years of experience in human services;
- A valid Connecticut driver's license and a good driving record;
- Reliable transportation, with the ability to utilize personal vehicle for transporting clients;
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills;
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team to ensure seamless care delivery;
- A strong commitment to confidentiality and maintaining client dignity;
