POSITION SUMMARY:
- The Community Support Specialist role offers a starting pay of $16 per hour, with potential growth to $18 per hour.
This position serves as a direct service provider within an adult day program, assisting individuals in community environments through a person-centered planning approach. The goal is to help clients develop, maintain, and enhance their self-help, domestic, social, and adaptive skills.
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM
- Flexibility to accommodate part-time availability for 2-3 days during the week.
- Benefits: 11 paid holidays and 10 days of Paid Time Off (PTO), along with a periodic retention bonus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver individualized support in ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:6 in both adult day programs and community settings, focusing on the enhancement of self-help, domestic, social, and adaptive skills.
- Assist clients in various areas including self-care, communication, motor skills, mobility, therapeutic activities, personal adjustment, and recreational pursuits.
- Provide necessary transportation to facilitate community participation in accordance with each individual's service plan.
- Encourage client involvement in community events, groups, volunteer opportunities, and work projects.
- Facilitate effective communication and foster meaningful social connections within the community, ultimately aiming for employment opportunities.
- Perform additional duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- A valid driver's license is preferred.
- Must possess the physical capability to lift 50+ pounds safely.
