Job Description

The Operations Leader is responsible for overseeing the operations of a designated area for TEI Construction Services, Inc. This includes establishing and maintaining relationships with area customers, preparing estimates and proposals, and providing project leadership from start to finish. The Operations Leader will report to the Regional Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare estimates using a standardized template, review and approve all area estimates, and facilitate the transition of estimates to proposals.
  • Lead the internal RFQ evaluation process and recommend bid or no-bid decisions based on area, regional, and company strategies.
  • Submit proposals through the company's commercial processes.
  • Build relationships with new and existing customers based on the company's sales strategy, partnering with sales staff and representatives as needed.
  • Monitor project activities to ensure compliance with company procedures and policies.
  • Provide project status updates to senior leadership and communicate challenges and recommended corrective actions in a timely manner.
  • Lead risk analysis for project issues and recommend solutions that align with short-term and long-term company strategies.
  • Lead internal and external reviews of area projects from sales identification through project close-out.
  • Review the effectiveness of project leadership, coach and mentor direct reports, and recommend corrective action as needed.
  • Complete all commercial, operational, and company reporting requirements by assigned deadlines.

Requirements

  • Sound understanding of project controls and risk management tools.
  • Technical knowledge of power plants and power equipment.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced work environment and adjust priorities as needed.

Education and Experience

  • Preferred B.S. in Construction Management or Engineering.
  • 5-7 years of experience in field engineering, project management, or a related field.
