Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled RN Stroke Analyst to join our team at UHS. As a key member of our stroke program, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality care for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Concurrently review medical records and available databases to identify areas for improvement.
  • Assist and coordinate data collection processes to ensure accurate and timely data.
  • Exhibit proficiency in data management and demonstrate knowledge of age-specific processes of care.
  • Coordinate referrals when physician or departmental review is indicated and assist with regulatory compliance.
  • Perform concurrent review and chart studies while maintaining databases for trauma, chest pain, and stroke patients.
  • Participate in the quality improvement program to evaluate care for these patient populations.
  • Provide support to leadership and the System Stroke Program Coordinator for performance improvement activities.
  • Assist with educating the staff and the community regarding initiatives and care of the stroke patients.
  • Assist in ensuring that requirements for the Stroke Designation are maintained for the STHS facilities and assist in the development and completion of required improvement actions.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years nursing experience preferably in critical care/emergency nursing.
  • Must acquire and maintain 8 CEUs related to Stroke annually.
  • Demonstrates competency and professionalism in verbal and written communication.
  • Basic computer literacy with strong verbal and writing skills.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical and stroke terminology.
  • Must have experience in an acute-care hospital environment.
  • Hours are flexible but must be able to work in a high-pressure environment subject to multiple and changing priorities and demands.
  • Must demonstrate commitment and adherence to STHS's Compliance Program and Code of Conduct through compliance with all policies and procedures, the Code of Conduct, attendance at required training, and immediately reporting suspected compliance issue(s) to the Compliance Officer.
Education/Licensure
  • Registered Nurse currently licensed in the State of Texas, or part of a compact state license, or has a valid temporary RN license for the State of Texas while waiting to receive the permanent license. BSN preferred.
  • Must possess an Associate Degree, Baccalaureate Degree, or Diploma from a School of Nursing or University.
  • RN will have BLS upon hire (and maintain through employment. Certification must be in accordance with the curriculum of the AHA, for Healthcare Provider's Program.
