The Specialist will oversee projects, mentor maintenance personnel, coordinate with contractors, and organize daily maintenance tasks to align with production objectives. The focus will be on implementing strategic improvements in plant asset reliability and enhancing maintenance processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a catalyst for change, promoting discipline, efficiency, and accountability within the maintenance team to enhance daily operations.
  • Provide expert technical guidance to Maintenance Planners and Supervisors in the development of job packages for all equipment categories, including fixed and rotating machinery.
  • Collaborate with Planners/Schedulers/Maintenance Supervisors to refine work processes, improving the efficiency of scheduling and execution of maintenance tasks.
  • Conduct field audits to assess the effectiveness of planning and scheduling practices.
  • Assist in ensuring compliance with Process Safety Management (PSM) standards, focusing on mechanical integrity and maintenance-related procedures.
  • Regularly review maintenance backlogs and compliance reports to ensure timely completion of critical inspections and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Establish and monitor Maintenance Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the effectiveness of maintenance processes.
  • Uphold the plant's Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies, particularly in the planning and execution of maintenance activities.
  • Support the Reliability Engineer in optimizing preventive and predictive maintenance strategies based on historical performance data.
  • Assist Operations and Maintenance teams in troubleshooting equipment failures and evaluating equipment performance against service conditions.
  • Ensure that repair details are meticulously documented during maintenance activities, including specifications for materials and procedures.
  • Provide technical support for the identification and procurement of necessary parts and equipment.
  • Coordinate Predictive Maintenance initiatives, including vibration analysis and thermography.
  • Monitor equipment performance to proactively identify and address potential issues.
  • Advise on maintenance tasks during turnarounds and contribute to post-turnaround evaluations.
  • Oversee the Management of Change process related to maintenance operations.
  • Lead Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) efforts to diagnose equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Share insights and learning from RCFA with the broader maintenance community.
  • Regularly assess the effectiveness of corrective actions resulting from audits and analyses.
  • Collaborate with operators to maintain equipment in optimal condition through the development of Standard Operating Procedures and training.
  • Facilitate knowledge transfer and best practices among plant engineers for technical optimization.
  • Develop and deliver training on Maintenance Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Provide input on Capital and Expense projects, ensuring they are executed safely and within budget.
  • Promote the adoption of innovative maintenance technologies within the plant.
  • Maintain accurate technical documentation for compliance and archival purposes.
  • Engage in the plant's capital and expense planning processes.
  • Participate actively in HSE training and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in maintenance and reliability, preferably in industrial settings.
  • Experience in planning and executing maintenance activities.
  • Familiarity with industry standards such as API, ASME, and ANSI.
  • Training in Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA).
  • Proficient in SAP and other maintenance management systems.
  • Strong understanding of HSE practices and regulations.
  • Knowledge of maintenance technologies, including vibration analysis and thermal imaging.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and data management tools.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work under pressure.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM).
  • Certification as a Maintenance and Reliability Professional (CMRP).
  • Certification as a Reliability Leader (CRL).
