About Sentry

We're on a mission to help developers write better software faster. Our performance and error monitoring tools help companies like Disney, Microsoft, and Atlassian spend less time fixing bugs and more time building products.

Job Description

The Product Foundation team is divided into two specialized pods: Alerts and Ecosystem. As a Senior Backend Engineer, you will join the team that maintains the foundational components of Sentry, including authentication, organization settings and configuration, and other essential building blocks of a SaaS product.

Responsibilities:
  • Build and maintain features/integrations with other SaaS services using React (TypeScript) and Django (Python).
  • Work on high-impact projects that touch the entire stack, from event ingestion pipelines to search and storage systems.
  • Develop tests and set up monitoring for your work to maintain a high engineering standard.
  • Foster growth and raise the team's technical aptitude through code review and mentorship.
  • Collaborate with technical writing staff to create user-focused documentation.
About You

You are a product-minded software engineer who regards Product and Design as peers. You seek collaboration to create innovative workflows and want to delve deeper than the application layer to understand the systems powering APIs.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or related field.
  • Strong experience with Django/Python and working knowledge of React/Typescript.
What We Offer

Sentry offers a competitive salary range of $175,000 to $200,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Our hybrid work schedule includes in-person collaboration on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. We also provide employee benefit plans, including incentive compensation, equity grants, paid time off, and group health insurance coverage.
